help!!! 5th gear gone

I haven't been keeping on this forum, but my dad could use your help. He was driving down the road tonight and without any warning or noise 5th gear quit. . Is this the 5th gear nut deal or what do you guys think. What are the possible fixes and can he still drive it to the shop of should it be towed??

There have been many threads on this topic. You can drive it some but metal shavings are circulating from stripping the threads off the nut. Best fix is to call 1-800-std-tran because none of the Mopar nuts really address the culprit, the hammering of the mainshaft by the spline tips on 5th gear until 5th wobbles and spits off the nut.
