Help - Anyone rebuilt their transfer case lately?

Well, I'm a week in to rebuilding my NP205 and I've started to re-assemble. Trouble is, it took so long to take it apart, and clean everything - I don't remember how it came apart #@$%!

It was only while I was cleaning them to put back that I noticed the shift rings have a chamfer on one outer edge only. Does this side go toward the front or the back?

I have a 50/50 chance until you apply Murphy's Law.

I figured TDR is my only way of increasing my chances.

there are a few online resourse for rebuilding a 205 . . this months 4x4 garage magazine has a multi page article on it. . also quad 4x4 has downloadable rebuild guide too and a paper version and cd version. . i have the cd and the paper. i want to do mine when i do my trans swap so i don't worry about it. .

Thanks for the info - somebody did point me in the direction of 4x4repairmanuals and I found DoubleAgent - really good photos - but no mention of the clutches being non-symmetrical. So I just winged it. Just drove to the end of the road OK - I'll let you know... .
