I am looking at a used 06 Mega 3500 dually, It has a six speed transmission in it but a previous owner had installed an over/under splitter. The problem is the driveshaft is at an extreme angle , Anybody ever had any issues with them. and tips on how to straighten the driveshaft out would be appreciated.

Can you be more specific on the reason it has an extreme angle? Is it lifted? How extreme? They make drop brackets for your drive shaft it's a two piece, however it depends what the case is with this truck.

Sorry not more specific. the angle is to right if you are standing underneath looking to the rear. The splitter is made by us gear it seems to be putting a bind on the carrier bearing. Anybody ever had any dealings with this one.

I wouldn't consider purchasing a truck that has been modified. One good reason is you won't have any factory warranty. Second, what else did the first owner do to the truck?

Find another truck that is completely stock.

That's two of us. I wouldn't touch that truck at any price.

you got that right I finally got ahold of someone at us gear they now make rockets for the government how about that but they remembered the problem they had with these splitters LOL. Need to take a second transmission crossmember and place it under transfer for additional support and that way you can take care of slack and angle. Not for Me.

Whats going on Capn Harley I didnt read all the post but I have had multiple issues with the drive shaft in my dually especially the carrier bearing. I have put shims under the bracket to lower it and take some of the angle out znd have not had an issue in quite some time probably the longest I ever gone without a drive shaft issue
