I've been to two separate dealers trying to get my VP44 checked out. The first dealer did the replacement/relocation of the lp to the tank. However, he told me that I had too much boost and therefore couldn't make a determination on the vp, even though he acknowledged hearing the surging...

Took it to another, more experienced dealer Friday, only to have him tell me the same thing, too much boost, didn't have anything to compare it too, no diagnosis... yet he also acknowledged the surging.

Tried resetting the APPS yesterday... before I started, checked the voltage at the PCM (orange wire/blue tracer) and it showed . 12V... so I pulled the APPS off, but couldn't figure out how to adjust it and keep it set at the . 463V as shown on the tag... put it back together, showed . 08V! checked the DTC's in the odometer, and it threw a P0122, APPS voltage too low, as well as lighting the check engine light... . and interestingly enough, there was very little surging on my way back home last night (2 hours highway) which really has me thinking that all my problems are tracing back to the APPS...

This morning, check engine light was off, but still shows a P0122... . and much to my chagrin I found out that there are two cycles on the odometer when doing the DTC display, one for the PCU and another for the ECU... I felt really stupid when I saw the ECU sequence showing 4 codes! P0122, P1693, P0216, and P0234...

That last one is engine overboost, which can only be caused by the Banks Quick Turbo and has to be why the dealer couldn't get the problem diagnosed... he told me that since the pressure was too high, he didn't have anything to compare it to and that I needed to reinstall the factory turbo housing and intake to get the right readings... . anybody had that problem with Banks stuff???? I emailed them this morning, still no reply.

Are you getting the p0234 with the EZ installed if not I would go ahead and run it to the dealer as it has not been proven to damage the VP like a Tap box and it would probobly block the p0234 and force them to find another excuse to not adress your p0216 code for what it is.

run the EZ then what can the dealer do? you already have a aftermarket turbo, exhaust, intake. Whats a little EZ gona hurt.

the code was thrown without the EZ installed...

Without the EZ you do not have a boost fooler in the MAP circuit. So a turbo that is creating more than 22-24 or what ever it is, is going to set a code. SNOKING

Exactly what SNOKING said. Q-are you going warranty with the problems? Are they honoring with the Banks and EZ etc? Did you clear codes with an OBDII tool? Then try it with everything (EZ) hooked up. Have you tried an APPS reprogram? Sorry bout all the Q's and not trying to be a butt head, just wondering/trying to diagnose/help.

when I took it in two weeks ago, I pulled the EZ off, and they did the lp replacement/relocation under warranty... so IMHO they've committed themselves to honoring the warranty if/when they diagnose the VP44 as needing replaced. I don't have an OBDII tool to clear the codes, and I forgot to see if they did it at the dealership when I had it back in last Friday. I did try to reset the APPS, but couldn't get it to adjust enough to get back to the factory voltage.
