Got home from work yesterday. Shut truck down got out walked around the front and then I saw it ," OIL "allot of it, open hood & its all over. The first thing I check is the puke can, empty-ed it out.

cleaned everything off, checked oil, down 1qt. , check radiator all OK. Started truck back up and then I saw it , oil com-ming from between block and the head right in front. not under pressure but running out quick enough to make a mess when the fan hits it. Trucks under warranty but I hate to take it to dealer. I live north of Monroe, MI. anybody know of any GOOD dealerships in the area.

Gary Ostrander at Vin Devers in Toledo is a good guy. He's the diesel mechanic there. Seems to know his stuff, and very helpfull. He did some service for me a few times on my old truck.

Tell him Pete sent you. (I'm a former Riga neighbor)

Negative, dealer has it deficiently head gasket. They had it since Monday, as of last night Thursday, they haven't even started on it.

I have seen this happen a couple of times now. The only thing that seems to be the smae on both trucks is how they were being driven. Both truck had very little run time on them when the owner started to get on them and build boost. Both times it blew head gasket right out the front middle. Makes a large mess and is a big hassle. the key is to warm the motor up and watch the oil pressure, wait to hotrod till after the oil pressure is staying down about 40 pounds. Good luck!

Bummer, you might consider taking Pete's advise and relocate the truck to Vin Devers in Toledo. Having good advise about a service location can be very valuable.

Good Luck.

Truck was running for 10-15 min. Was getting onto freeway the lane merges on the fast lane (left side) was W. O. T. about 75mph. when some person (jerk) moved from the middle lane doing 65mph into the passing lane (my lane) right in front of me . Had to let off of the throttle quick and hit the brakes. Still did not notice a problem until I got home. On the bad side the (dealer) said today that they would not cover the blown head gasket because the head gasket was not stock. ????? . This is one I cannot figure out sense the engine has never been worked on before. :--)

Sounds fishy...

If you bought the truck new... I assume you did, and it has not had any mods, then the dealer is just trying to get out of warranty and raid your pocket. That would make this one a (everyone say it with me) __EALER!:p

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Let us know hot it turns out.

Towed truck in 03/17/2003, Finally got truck back 04/18/2003.

truck was sup post to be ready to pick up 04/04/2003 .

but as I told dealer I was leaving for out of state 04/02/2003

and would not be back until 04/11/2003 and I would like to get the vehicle back before I left. which would have given them 16 days to fix truck. But NO not this dealer. So when I returned on the 11th, I drove the truck home approx 18 mi. and pulled into my garage I could smell diesel fuel. I opened the hood and fuel is dripping off of everything. Called dealer, took truck back, and then they had it until the 18th. Apparently when they installed the injectors back in the head the forgot to pull back the injector tubes and screwed up some of them. Got truck home the second time got out of truck and noticed the chipped the paint off of the edge of the drivers door. I GIVE UP
