Enough Truck?

Need help ASAP. One of our cargo doors lift arms ripped out of the door and fell off. I'm trying to install a new one, but the arm will not compress to close. I installed it on the door and camper, but it is locked open. What am i doing wrong? Leaving for Maine in the moring, need to get this done soon.

Thanks!!

No experience with these but I would guess there is some type of stop installed on the arm to hold it all the way out for installation. After installed it would retract or help lift the door when the lock is removed. Look for a pin or bolt head in the cylinder. Does it move at all? bg

No it has nothing like that. Really strange. I bought the new one because the old one pulled out from the door, and i assumed because the spring was locked all the way out. Went and bought a new one, and it is locked all the way out as well.

I think I erred in thinking that you were talking about a loading ramp in the rear of trailer rather than cargo storage. If the cylinder you got is too strong (not the right application) you won't be able to compress it without tearing something up. i would think the cargo doors are pretty light and would only require a few pounds of pressure to hold up. bg

I have to wonder this as well, did you get the replacement at a Montana / Keystone dealer?

Mike.
