Can someone please help!!!!! If you have a 5 speed, ext cab, long bed, 4wd can you please get me the measurement from the front of the large balancer on the rear diveline to the center of the carrier bearing... I got front end stuck, and while trying to get out I broke the spiders in the rear end, and I believe the carrier bearing was somehow pressed on further than it should be. All of this has been repaired including the carrier bearing, but driveline is still hitting on the carrier bearing housing... I belive when they pressed the new bearing on they put it in the same place. I need this measurement, please help!!!!

u can't go too far cause its supposed to be slid on all the way. either they put on the wrong housing and its on backwards. U can just cut the lip off a little so it won't touch the driveline.

When I got the driveline back and installed it, had to force it into the pinion yoke. I could hardly compress the splines on the shaft to get it in. I dove it and it sounded fine, then it began making a beating type sound. With no ablity to compess on the splines, it begins to bind up. There must be back and forth play in the splines to move with suspension travel, it doesn;t have any. Also I noticed that it way way out from the rubber seal at the transfer case.

Answer

Twenty nine and one eighth inches from the near side of the balancer to the center of the oval hole in the bottom of the carrier bearing housing.
