Help Chrome cleaner!

Ok I have a pair of slant cut stacks I used to run on my truck... . then I went to turnouts..... then sold the system.



Well while I had the slants on the truck a plastic trash bag got melted to one of them.



Just wondering if any of you guys know of a way to get that plastic bag off without harming the chrome? I'm considering running these stacks again... . but need to get that melted plastic off there first.

Eagle 1 Chrome and Wire Wheel cleaner, if it does not take it off nothing will, it is safe for the chrome too but will eat paint and clearcoat bigtime... ... .

Easy off oven cleaner. Think about it... most of the oven racks out there are chromed.



I use it on my motorcycle pipes when I get a careless passenger that rests their foot on them.

Both of those other suggestions sound good. A chrome cleaner I've had good luck with is Bar Keeper's Friend.



It's a scouring powder with a mild abrasive, like Bon Ami. It won't scratch chrome or plain steel. I don't know what chemicals are in it, but it really cleans chrome and steel. As it claims on the can, it will remove rust.



You can find it at grocery stores and hardware stores. It will be near the Bon Ami.

The VERY BEST chrome cleaner I have found (and the ONLY one I'll use on my expensive custom chrome engine parts) is from Griot's Garage ( www.griotsgarage.com). This is the ONLY chrome cleaner that I know of that does not have abrasives.

You may try some extra fine steel wool... it works, as I have used it... its either 3/0 or 4/0 grade... . try it.

3m Adhesive remover. My tip was soo badly covered in road tar , road kill , tyre rubber that you had no idea it was chrome . Hit it with that twice and it was gleeming. cant even tell it was caked with all that.
