problems after chassis dyno smog check code P1698

2001 24 VALVE AUTOMATIC. Had smog check done on truck in NV this is done on a dyno. (Back wheel turn front dont) during test following lights came on ENGINE, ABS AND BRAKE, ODOMITER SAYS (NO BUS). ALSO ALL GAUGES STOPPED WORKING. CODE P1698. Help please.

No CCD Messages Received From ECM



Under 911 section there is the whole list of error codes. You have to be a member to read them.



I believe your rearend sensor wheel and speed sensor are the reason.

P1698 has two definitions...



1. No CCD/J1850 Message From TCM No CCD/J1850 messages received from the electronic transmission control module (EATX) or the Aisin transmission controller.

2. No CCD Messages received from PCM Bus communication failure to PCM. A Companion DTC was set in both the ECM and PCM.



Since you have an auto transmission, it could be a bad connection at the TCM. But I'd check all the major connections to the computers. Possibly one came loose causing the problem.



Since odometer says "No Bus", that leads me away from the speed sensor and more towards computer communications.
