Did a 600 mile trip and on the way home I notticed my driver side speakers are not worling rite. It sounds like there blowed or something. The truck has a after market raido and speakers in factory location. Has eney body else have this problem??? My frind has a 00 and his is doing it towith factory speakers??? Any Info would be greatful. Justin

When this happened on mine it turned out to be a blown speaker. Remove the door trim ( a couple of screws and the use of a forked trim remover). If you're careful you will be able to re-use the plastic attachment plugs. If not, buy a few at NAPA or similar. At the dealer you will need a mortgage. Remove the speaker. Pull the two spade connectors off the speaker. Put an ohm-meter on low range across the two contacts on the speaker. It should be a small number of ohms, perhaps 8. If it shows infinite resistance, the speaker circuit inside the speaker has blown, and the speaker will need to be replaced. If you want a cheap job, Wal-Mart sells the right size as a pair (Jensen, I think), so you and your pal could have one each! If yours are Infinity speakers, with the attached amplifier, that's more complex, but it can be transferred without too much trouble. Good luck. Nick.

Sounds blown... I had a rather bizzare problem with my passenger side speaker, seemed to be only getting treble occationally. It didn't look blown, but I replaced it and had the same results. It turns out reusing the plastic connector in there may not be the best idea. It was a really bad connection. Had to resplice it further down for both wires.

One of these days ill revamp this thing again and this time, NO factory wiring. I think that day is coming soon too. . Lost my Infinity sub amp last week to heat and my Rockford Punch600 is fading fast.

If any of you guys are using the MTX thunder sub box for the rear seat... look out and vent it, with the seat down, your amps will be toasty and cut out.

I am having the same problem on my 2001. 5, but it doesn't sound blown... the lower speaker is working but the tweeter was off and on for a while, and hasn't worked in a few months... I know the crossover box is getting power because the lower speaker is working. . (I think it should work that way. ) there is a relay that turns on the power to the crossover boxes, but one is working so. . I just havn't pulled the door panel to check. . I have had the pillar off and all looks good under there...

Justin. . U didn't say if the have the seperate style speakers or just the singles in the door...

Driver's side door speaker (inifinty system) quit. Dealer quoted $135 parts and $65 labor for new door 6x9. Went to Circuit City and bought 3-way 6x9 Infinitys for BOTH doors ($89) and $35 labor- better bass and treble -and 1 yr warranty.

RADIO SPEACKER FADE

HELLO. .

I too have been having trouble with my FRONT SPEAKERS coming and going on and off... . (1998) they work for awhile then quite,,then awhile later come on. . (some times days later)

Has any one else found WHY THIS IS HAPPENING??

Could it be the JOYSTICK,,(speaker control)

Does any one think it is the RADIO or in speakers (both of them)

THANKS FOR ANY FEED BACK

I've had the same problem with my passenger side speaker on the non-infinity system. Unfortunately, mine is mostly off, but comes on occasionally. I'd also like to know if anyone has figured this out, and how to fix it.

RADIO SPEACKERS

I took my door panels off today to check speakers... Played with connections ,,no go.

These speakers have there own AMPLIFIERS on them. , (as in the CORVETTES BOSE systems) I tapped

it a few times with screwdriver and it started working!! Oo.

Not sure if it will STAY WORKING

I went into a RADIO shop the other night to see if I could get any info on were to look for the GREMLINS,, as If it was in the RAIDO or the JOYSTICK,, or will cleaning help,,ETC.

With Out ME even saying what I was driving they asked if it was a CHRYSLER product!! :{

They said they have MORE Problems then ANY OTHERS,, the infinity systems.
