My brother and law's 03 was being delivered today and it dropped an injector in route. The dealer is replacing all the injectors and offering some other incitives for him to take the truck. Should he back out or go ahead with the deal. The price he is getting makes it hard to walk away.

This is very rare, if it was me and everything else checked out ok I would not let the injector problem affect my taking the truck.

What do you mean by "dropped"? I wonder if it was abused or over rev'd or ? If it just had a bad injector and they fixed it then I wouldn't worry. In fact I'm amazed that the dealers mechanic was able to diagnose it! Most dealers don't even have diesel techs.

I guess I do not understand what a " DROPPED INJECTOR " is.

What does being delivered and enroute mean ??????

Thanks for the clarification.

If you mean it quit injecting then no big deal as it could be just a loose connection in the harness, plug, failed solinoid, etc. If you mean it grenaded like a 6. 0's injector then there would be diesel dilution in the crankcase, bad.

If it was being driven to the dealer on a dealer trade from EAST L A. by some lot jockeyflunkylotdudedoperdropout I would run very very fast in any direction but toward that truck.

By dropped an injector I mean it filled the crankcase full of oil ect. The truck was being moved on dealer trade; however, It happened to be the owner of the dealership that was driving. I know that sounds weird but it's a small town dealer and no one else happened to be available.

Thanks for the prompt replies as He needs to make a decision pretty quick.

What kind of buyer is he. There is a good chance the dealer will repair anything wrong during the warranty. But if he drives a truck past warranty before trading, I would find another truck.
