I've been posting the cheap stations that I've been filling up at in the greater SF bay area. I filled this weekend at $3. 09. Have been posting in the "High cost of Diesel" forum. Not many others are posting. With the drastic difference in cost it is worth driving just a bit for much cheaper fuel. If we let each other know where the cheap fuel is we can all help each other. I found the 3. 09 at an ARCO in Brentwood off of Highway 4 on Lone Tree Way using "GasBuddy.com" Just thought we could help each other out.

Cheapest place I've seen in the area is Golden Gate truck stop. USA PArkway near Tracy Clark station between Reno and Fernley. $3. 29 as of last night. This place has only been open a couple of months.

Great idea Andy. Thanks.

FYI Flying J posts their prices daily on flyingjdotcom I use it to determine where to look for the cheapest prices.

I agree with bedroc, look at flying j's site or some of the other large dealers such as Pilot or TA. I always check prices before a road trip so i know what to expect. Randy

On our cross country road trip this last summer the FJs were on average the cheapest. The problem is they are generally located along the interstates out of the urban areas. Good for road trips not so good for day to to day. When I found the ARCO I called just to verify the price. They said they could not say over the phone? But FJ posts prices on website? listening to the news OPEC is trying to cut production and raise price per barral.

The application Gassbuddy is a joke in my area. No one updates, is missing lots of stations with no easy way to update without the exact address with telepone numbers etc.

Looking for a good application for the Iphone for fuel.

Today, on Flying J's website, Regular Gasoline was $2. 07/9 in Oklahoma City, OK. , $2. 09/9 in parts of TX. , $2. 17/9 in MO.

It's amazing that with the lifting of the Presidential Ban on oil drilling that the price is cut more than in half in such a short time. Depending on what administration gets into office after the election, it will be quite interesting to see where gas pricing goes. We need to remember this when at the polls.
