Help Edge EZ Problem

Can anyone help. I have sold an EZ box to a guy with a 02 HO 6sp. 3 days out of 4 everything is fine then on the fourth day the little light that looks like an engine comes on. He can't take it to the dealer for a code reading to help find out the problem, and We have put a second box on to be sure it's not the box. If we unhook the battery and reset the light it works for 3 or 4 days then we're right back at the same place with the light. Could we be getting to much boost? The elbow is not hooked up. He loves the power and wants the box but we need to get the light off. He is going to try a Comp box but I don't think it's going to change. Any Help?

You say you've tried two EZ boxes, so it's probably not the EZ. Here are a couple of suggestions.



1. Double check the connector pins to make sure they are all straight.

2. Coat the connector pins with dielectric grease (from auto parts store).

3. Read the fault codes (P-Codes) off the odometer. You can do this by cycling the ignitions switch off and on three times, and leaving it on the third time. You will see the P-Codes displayed in sequence. If you have no codes, it will read "Pdone"... If you do have codes, and don't know the codes, post them on the site and someone will give you the meanings.

4. You can always call Edge and they can give you help...

Was the EZ come off a pre '02 truck? If so, then you need to order an adapter for use on an '02. Had to do that myself.

It may be an over boost which sets the light. You may want to find an independant shop with an Autotap to read your codes and make sure that is the problem. You should also install the elbow that comes with the EZ, it is really easy to do and will keep the wastegate from opening under higher boost conitions.
