Help, Fri MAR 30 3:15pm
Left the truck running outside to post this. EGTs were showing over 500F when I left it, that after waiting 10minutes with no change.

I am going to go back out in the snow and check my turbo lines (after just doing a search for ideas), and the EGT gauge wiring.

If that is not it, I can't figure out why my EGTs will not come down at idle. Also, just driving down secondary roads (no toys on), I am getting high 800's to over 1K.
This just started in our latest snowstorm today.
I've checked the intercooler for snow, nope.
I pulled the top off the airbox to insure no blockage in filter, nope. I left a nice gap between the box and the fender just in case that helps.

I checked the engine fluids, ok.
Water temp at idle is low normal range.
Power seems normal.
Exhaust pipe (OEM) seems to be fine.

WHAT AM I MISSING??

EGT Temps via SPA gauge which has never shown any tendancy to be wrong.

I will post my number and delete it later: 802-###-#### Call collect (say "TDR member") if you have some good ideas, thx.

THX

Using the powerful search features of the TDR website, and some common sense, I was able to solve the problem.

Believe it or not, after running my truck all winter in 2nd worst total snow of recorded history in Vermont:

March 30th (today) my pyro gauge wiring managed to get wet during this (yep you got it) snow storm..... ARGGGGGG

Be still my beating heart... . PHEWWWW!

David, was it the amplifier that got wet? I had that experience. Temps went wild.

Are you coming to the dry and warm west coast? I have you billed as the guest speaker at the BOMBday next Saturday.
