My father-in-laws Sears push mowers' self propelled is not working. I am getting tired or taking the Dixon over there every week to mow his yard... ... ... . On the self propelled mowers, are they belt driven? It has become slower and slower over time until it just quit moving forward. Are they hard to fix? What do I need to look at?

Thanks,

Jason

There were different set-ups on the Sears mowers.

Most all are belt driven.

Pull the cover on the mower where the trans is. Sometimes they get built up with grass and won't fully engage. Check the the trans is fully engaging when the drive is engaged. Might just be a cable adjustment.

The trans should just pivot slightly on the axle. (if it's that type)
