Can anyone out there is this wide wonderful world help me find the proper fitting that goes on the banjo bolt that sticks out the side of the VP44? I've been all over my local area (Kitsap Pennsula in NW Washington State) and either get blank stares or am told that I can only get an R-12 fitting on the black market.

I've been to NAPA and Parts Plus auto parts stores as well as a very good local hydraulic hose and fitting supplier with no luck.

I'm trying to put together a test FP Gauge while I'm waiting for the new ISSPRO EV to become available. Will then keep the test gauge as a backup to the electrical to verify if starting to get funny readings.

After reading many horror stories about failed LP's here on the fourm, I really need to get mine checked. I've got nearly 21K miles on my 01 without problems, but I'm figuring out that it is kind of like having high blood pressure - without monitoring it you don't know you have a problem until it is too late.

How about some of you NW Bombers - any clues for a NW source?

Appreciate the help and keep up the informative posts.

The fitting your looking for is an AN-4. They are available through Summit Racing. I did mine with a Summit part number 300104

which is an AN-4 to a braided fuel line hose crimp on. I had the fuel line made by a local garage and installed these fittings.

Any air conditioning and refridgeration parts house can hook you up, I went to a Johnstone Supply house, not sure if they are on the west coast or not. Tell them you need a hose that screws onto a schrader fitting, then find a gauge that fits the other end, I used an air pressure gauge from a Fisher air control valve and it's only about 1 and a half inches in diameter so it's small for sticking under the wnidshield wiper to do down the road tests. As far as I know all AC and R hoses are the same it doesn't matter if it's R-12 or 134a, it's still a schrader valve that you're hooking to.

Briar Hopper from Black Mountain Diesel has a pressure gauge kit all set up for sale. Its not a bad buy either. You can check the pressure from all the model years of the 24v.

donyo,

Give Williams Oil Filter Service Co. (WOFSCO) in Tacoma a call... . ;) They should carry it! :D They have everything! Oo.

A BIG thank you to everyone that responded!

Per the tip from turbo tim1 I happened to spot a Johnstone Supply here in Bremerton and stopped in. Sure enough, they had what I needed.

It is great people like you all, with great responses that make TDR a wonderful resource for CTD owners.

Thanks again

No R134 uses quick disconnects like an air compressor hose not a normal thread on shrader valve.

Another place to get a guage with hose is an auto parts store. Most of them carry fuel pressure gauges just get one with a schrader valve that will work with Dodges the gassers use the same schrader valve as the diesels. I used the hose off of one so I could use a pressure transducer and have a display in the cab instead of taped to the windshield.
