I got in my truck this morning and as soon as it started, I hit the driver's heated seat button on high and it started flashing. I pressed it again, pressed the low and nothing got it to stop flashing. After about 2 minutes, it stopped flashing. So I pressed the low botton and it did the same thing. THe passenger seat button was working fine. My driver's seat never heated up, it just flashed, then went off.

Anybody know what this is? Element went out? It's not working.

From the FSM:

"When the module detects certain failures within the heated seat system, it will provide a visual indication of the failure by flashing the indicator lamps in the heated seat switches. "

The module referred to is the heated seat module. The meaning of "certain failures" is not given.

The same thing happened to me a couple of years, it was the heat grid in the bottom of the seat. You are not going to like the price of the new grid.

This happened to my truck several times, check the connector under the seat, the wiring was tucked up into the seat cover and when the seat slid forward it would unplug the connector. Once I realized why the connector was coming unplugged I reached up into the seat cover and was able to retract more wire to make it long enough to slide seat all of the way ahead. No problems since then... . good luck... ... ... .

What he said. Seems like the grid ends up being the fix.
