My friend that has a chev 6. 5, now has a powerstroke, and he is in the next state over, with a truck that starts, idles, but the check engine light is on, and the throttle doesn't respond. Ideas? Thank you

Nick

p. s. is the plate on a fifth wheel camper the same as a semi trailer. I have a peterbilt I could get half of it back with.

Nick,

Sounds like a problem with the accelerator pedal assembly/idle validation switch. Check the wiring connections, and make sure the pedal has full travel (stop to stop). What year PSD is it? The pedal assembly has three groups, 94-97, 99-01, and 02+. I have seen these things screw up plenty of times, and its a pretty easy fix, whether it be wiring or in need of replacement.

Glad to hear its fixed! That's a new one, a PSD stopped dead (almost) by a relay. Which relay was it? I have had problems with the fuel pump circuitry on the 99+ PSD... Then there's that pesky CMP sensor... Not to mention that whole HEUI thing...

*LOL* I got 3 of them in the shop right now, all DEAD.

Glad I got a Cummins Dodge.

This relay is the one and i can't recall exactly what it was called but basically linked the pedal to the motor.

it is a model year 2002 with 10,000 on it.

Your buddy had better quit messing around and get a CTD and not put up with the BS with the off brand trucks and just put up with lift pumps. They are easy cus you always carry a spare under the back seat.
