This started yesterday after I filled up a Flying J. Truck starts fine cold. 1 to 1 1/2 engince cycles and it fires right up. But, after the truck gets to normal operating temps and I have to restart, it takes maybe 5 to 7 engine cycles to fire up. I thought it may be losing prime somewhere so I tightened everything I could find on the supply side. Even after I start the truck (after the 5 to 7 engine cycles), IF I shut it down within 30 seconds or so and restart it as a test, it still will still take 3 to 5 cycles to restart. Restarts after several minutes of engine running are fine, unless I let it sit for about 7 to 10 minutes. Yet if I let the engine totally cool for 2 + hrs it will start fine.

HELP TDR Brotherin!!!!

Craig.

Hard starting when warm is often an indicator of a dying VP. Any codes? Beware of P0216!

Mine is hard to start also, but totally different than yours. Mine is only hard to start when it's been sitting a long time. I am getting air in the system somehow.

what is your fuel pressure??

justin

Pressure has been a constant 15+ psi (FASS). The truck runs fine if not great otherwise. I tested on the way home and it will hit 3200 + rpm on fast takeoffs and passing (if that makes any difference. ) I put on the FASS about 8K miles ago in December. This is a 1 year old VP put on back in January, 2003.

Thanks for any help.
