This Saturday I have a race scheduled against my brother. He has a 08 Durascrap, stock except a Predator chip 120hp

I don't know if my truck profile is going to work (hasn't so far) so:

07 5. 9 srw, K&N, 5 inch turbo back, Smarty 06, getting stage 4 ATS trany installed Wednesday. That should be all the go faster parts, I am just wondering the best settings for the Smarty. I have torque managment on medium but I hear to turn it down so I don't drain the rail quick. Should I try the 170hp setting or 130?? Oh ya I have full gauges, what is acceptable to pull the rail down to at WOT ??

Thanx

James

Idk man those new duramax's are freaking quick. From my expierence racing, i have a 6 sp but he will beat you off the line bottom end is good on them but past 55-60 you will pull away. at least thats how my race happened with mine and a stock 08. But i still say you should beat him... Good luck

With my set up the rail will not go over 22k and when I lay into it, it goes from 18k to 10k and then back up. I think my injectors are my problem and I will hopefully get a new cp3 soon. Do you have a high pressure rail gauge? If you do just monitor it on some practice runs and see how it dips an different settings.

With stock injectors you should be alright with rail pressure. Crank the smarty and if you have a lock up controller for your new transmission then you should beat him no problem.

Those LMMs are fast I have play with a few and you will need the jump ,so make sure it a 10psi launch. or its going to be really close

Sorry I should have put in my truck profile, I do have stock injectors, and yes I do have a rail pressure and lift pressure gauges. I am getting the ATS co pilot, I will see how that is, to be honest I like driving around in tow haul mode anyway, even empty. I have tried searching on here 'minium rail pressure' but couldn't find what I was looking for. I thought I read 18k is the minimum to bring it down. The first thing I am going to do when I get her back is crank her up to #9 and extreme torque managment and see what happens. I was just wondering what to expect. Thanx guys

Update

Just a update incase U guys were wondering, I did beat him in the race, it wasnt to much of a race really < > I got him of the line and all the way up. I was worried about my rail pressure for no good reason. Even on the smarty cranked, it dropped a bit when I first hit her, then quickly built back up to 23k. Thanx guy, we don't have to worry about those durascraps so long as they only have a 120hp chip. (wish I didn't have to spend $7000 on transmission just to be able to use my chip, BUT I have plans for more toys next summer)
