I have a 03 Ram 3500 with the H. O. Cummins. The other day it would die every time I stopped. Unless,I kept the engine rev'd up. Yesterday it died and wouldn't start back. It showed a P0341(Camshaft Position Sensor)fault. I had the sensor changed. It's not showing any faults but it will still not start. The lift pump is new and it has fuel. It's sitting at the dealer now. They don't know what to do either. They say their going to make a couple of phone calls. I'm afraid they are going to tell me it's the injector pump. If I have to change it,does anyone have any money saving tips?Better yet, does anyone have any performance tips? Can I buy different injector pump, other than stock, for this truck?

Thanks,Bill

p. s.

I had a Bully Dog chip on the truck and it worked fine for about 6 months then it would kill the truck every time I would key the mic on my CB. I could take the CB antenna off and it wouldn't do it. It has been unhooked for a while. But I would like to use it when I get the truck running again.

It started loosing power. The dealer just told me that it is the injector pump. Do you know where I can get the best deal? Thanks

A bad CPS usually presents the symptom of erratic RPM readings when it does start and also intermittent starts. If your RPMs were properly read when it did start; then the original problem almost definitely was not the CPS despite what the trouble code said. Probably simpler then that -- like maybe the wiring harness to the CPS is bad and therefore CPS readings occasionally work and occasionally don't work.

Keying the CB killed the truck?

I'd have to take a really close look at what wires are tapped for power and for ground? If there's any taps; completely remove them; this is a serious problem and it needs to be completely isolated.

When you bump the key do you hear the fuel pump prime? If no; then your low pressure pump is still bad -or- it's not getting the signal to prime from the PCM-->ECM. Maybe even drain just a cup or so of fuel from the canister to make sure it has to prime. If it doesn't; the problem is still -before- the high pressure injection pump.

I'm pretty sure you'd have low pressure codes tripped if you had a failing injection pump; so I don't believe that diagnosis. Just My Opinion! Atleast I'd inquire of an expert how an injection pump can gradually fail w/o any low pressure codes getting tripped.

Its still not showing any codes. Could this be,because it hasn't started since they have been cleared. The only one it showed before was the cps.
