I have a friend on the cell phone now who ran his 24v out of fuel.

how do you bleed to start??

Hopefully he didn't try and run it for very long once it ran out of fuel. First he needs to turn on the ignition and "bump" the starter - the fuel pump will run for about 30 seconds. He'll want to do that 4 or 5 times. That will fill the fuel canister. Then try and start it. If it still won't start then he'll need to crack a few of the injector lines where they go into the head and crank until fuel starts coming out at those fittings. Once fuel comes out then tighten that fitting and keep going until you see fuel out of a few of the cylinders. It should start up then. Very important is to not get your hand close to those fittings while they are loosened and he's cranking or the engine is running. That is high pressure fuel and can pierce through the skin and enter the blood stream.

crack the injector lines on the side of the head, bump the starter, leave the key on while the lift pump runs. Once he gets a little bit of fuel to trickle out of the lines, try cranking the motor over while closing off the lines.

Be careful, no fingers near the lines while they are open.

Once it's running, if it's idling smooth you're done, if it's rough, crack each line for a second or two while it's running.

That should get her going.

Many Thanks!

Just got home. Of course he had to do this on the coldest darkest night possible! Was able to crack 3 injector lines and that was enough to get'er to start. It smoothed out within a few seconds. :D

I wasn't sure if it required more than cracking the lines, thanks for the quick responses!! :)

Thanks again!!
