My truck was imported from Canada, where day time running lights are the norm. Sometime last year, I lost my day time running lights, and my high beam indicator on my dash. This, I believe, happened at the same time. Now, everything seems normal for a California vehicle, meaning there are no day time running lights, except that I can not tell when the high beams are on. The big blue dash light is out, which indicates your high beams are on! I changed the bulb behind the instrument cluster, thinking that the two symptoms were isolated. But nooooooooooo, that didn’t fix anything! :) It must be a relay or a fuse. Does anyone know what the problem may be? There must be an easy solution. That’s why I can’t figure it out! Thanks in advance. I really appreciate it.

The relay in the PDC has an output to the Daytime Running Lamp module and the Instrument Cluster High Beam Indicator Driver. It's the High Beam Relay. You can try swapping it with another relay and see if that solves your problem.

Coming out of the PDC it's the Red/Green wire that controls the DRL and the high beam indicator. It goes through connecter C134. I'd check the connector first.

Hi Alan

I tried swapping the relay with two others, with no changes. Someone else has wriiten that there daytime running lights were out, and the Dealer reflashed there computer module, which fixed that problem. Could it be the same problem? If I have the dealer, reflash my brain, should I remove the BD Edge EZ box before I take it in?

Thanks again.

Matt

There is also a Daytime Running Lamp Module. That drives the indicator in the dash and the high beam relay in the PDC.

It takes the dimmer swithch inputs (high or low) and the ouput goes to the High Beam Relay and the Instrument Cluster.

To answer your question, a reflash may take care of it.

First, check the Red/Gray wire going to the instrument cluster and make sure it has power. There is also a Red/Gray that goes to the relay.

It could be the DRL module itself.

I fixed it! Thanks Alan. I found the DRL Module, and the plug was loose! I pushed it in, and VALLLAAAAAAAAAA! Or however you spell it. YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks Alot!
