Anybody have some experience laying out pex pipe. I have a 40 x40 pole barn with 2 overhead doors on one wall. The heating wholesaler has calculated the heat loss/pipe needs at 6 loops of 300' 1/2 pex. I am trying to work out the best layout. I will be using embassy manifolds so I think I can balance, or unbalance, the loops to even out the heat to some degree.
I know the basics, supply lines to the outside and returns toward the center and some of the common layouts to service various small rooms with a varying number of walls, But I am wondering if I should do the corners as 4 loops with the ones by the overhead doors more densely placed than the backwall corners and finishing up with the last two loops servicing the center of the side walls and the middle of the building.
OR ???
And yes I appreciate I could hire a local contractor but I am getting a huge discount by going thru a good friend who has only done a couple of small systems. He is not making any money he just figures a warm shop next door could come in handy some January day. I don't particulary like to work on Fords but his will always be welcome in my shop.
Any advice from someone in the know would be appreciated.
