Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Help I LOST MY SMOKE!!

One day it was good now it won't smoke when I am into it. If it does it is marginal and grey looking. "BUT" when it is first started my initial take off in 2nd i can get some decent smoke. don't have fuel pressure gauge. put a new fuel filter on, no help there, injector cleaner did not help. it has 160,000 miles. "It still runs very wheel alittle less boost and not quite as quick. been through different fuels. Lift pump? Timing? What please any help would be great and make driving more fun again.

Bad overflow valve? Does the fuel strainer need cleaned?
