Folks,

My truck is throwing the following codes:

P0463: Fuel level sensor circuit high input. My truck hasn't shown the correct fuel level in a LOOOONG time. How hard is it to change this out?

P0720 output shaft speed sensor. This sounds expensive.

P1693 Turbo charge control circuit malfunction.

Are any of these easy fixes for a shade tree?

Are there any TDR friendly shops in my area that anyone can recommend? - San Franciso mid-Peninsula (half way between San Francisco and San Jose)?

thanks in advance.

Either pull the bed (4-6 bolts, a couple wire harnesses and a couple extra guys to lift it) or drain the tank, disconnect the fill tube and fuel lines, unbolt the two straps, and use a floor jack to lower the tank. It's pretty light when empty. Most of us just accept the fact that the fuel level sender is inaccurate and go off of known mileage.

another easy job. Located on the tail of the transmission. Parts may or may not be expensive. Check with auto parts stores first before a stealership. RE- Fuel sending unit, the last time I checked the Dodge in tank transfer sending unit (fuel pump) was cheaper than the regular one - if you are still running the block mounted fuel transfer pump, this is a good upgrade ~ in addition to the block mounted pump.

P1693 Turbo charge control circuit malfunction.

You looked up something wrong. P1693 is a companion code stored in another module ~ either the ECM or PCM. The turbos on the 1st and 2nd gens did not have any control features to them other than the wastegate that is strictly mechanical and self contained.

Yes, all of them are simple fixes. Do a search here on "Fuel tank sending unit" and "Output Shaft speed sensor"

Couldn't tell you. Just find a reputable shop and tell them you want the two codes fixed, and only those two codes.

Folks,

No idea if STICKS nailed the responses, looked good to me, but that was a nice clear response, 4 TDR points awarded from my iPad. Ask Robin for point program reward form. :-laf

I appreciate it sticks. Sounds like I'm finally going to have to give the factory service manuals I bought on ebay some years ago a workout. Fuel sender I might have to pay some one to do. I'm chasing a contract in Hawaii and working on that after hours. Unfortunately I"m going to have to sell Olga. She's been an awesome truck for the last 13yrs I've had her.
