I was in a minor accident, hit someone who pulled out in front of me. Amongst the bumper. condensor and intercooler, I found a plug- its down and forward of the AC compressor fastened to the lower rad shroud. One side is routed up the pass. side frame rail.

The other side runs up through the lower fan shroud (Mine's missing- wires ripped out at the plug itself, but I looked under a new truck a few days ago. ) Can anyone tell me where this goes and what it's function is? The parts guys at two different dealers have not been able to find it in their system.

I'm thinking the fan is just a viscous clutch with out any electrical control?? I've got a 2000 mile road trip to Vernal, Utah in two weeks and need to get the truck sorted out, cosmetics can wait if need be. Thanks!

if I remember right, the sensor for the fan clutch is on the passenger side of the radiator on the bottom. part. So it could be what you are describing.

so you're telling me the fan clutch has an electrical control somehow? I looked the fan over, all I could see was the driven pulley (back side of accy belt) and the shaft to the fan hub. Does the wiring go in to the back side of the driven pulley??

so if that's the case, it could be my wires were yanked out somehow and that's why I don't see them. Safe to say I'll have to get a new fan assy to get the wiring harness from that side of the plug??

Thanks in advance for your help guys?
