Just put in tst powermax last night, noticed it had a bit of a miss so I unhooked it this am to see if the tst was doing it, now truck is in limp mode with check engine light on!!! Help, I don't know what I did wrong
Put the key in the ignition and turn to "on" (DO NOT START) then off, on, off, on and leave on. In the odometer window the computer will show you the PCU, and ECU codes. What are they?
ok, first, just drove the truck, out of limp mode but check engine light is still on. Then I go out to do what you said got these codes, 1693, 1689, 0237 and now the check engine light is off??
1689-No Communication Between ECM & Injection Pump Module
1693-DTC Detected In Companion Module
DTC Detected In PCM/ECM
237- low map sensor voltage
Has it rained? Or possibly you had a bad connection. I had similar issues the other month when moisture got into one of my connectors. I dried them out amd put in some dieletric grease and have been good to go.
check the connectors on the map. If you turned the ignition on with out these connected, you will set the map undervoltage code. The yellow, middle light should be on any time the ignition is on. I hope the pump is not burned up.
That sounds similar to happened when I put mine on. Check engine came on but ran fine. I did not check codes. After a short amount of driving the light went out. I took it to a guy that "likes"messing with stuff like that. It turned out I had the wire that goes to the pump hooked up to the wrong wire. Worked like a charm.
