I started then stopped the install. I removed the HP line, then the gray fuel nozzle. The rv275s I bought didnt look like they could fit down that hole. Does the injector really fit that far into the head? Also couldnt locate the injector hold down bolts. Does anyone have the pdf file on installing injectors? E-mail me at -- email address removed --

I dont want to take any chances so I thought it was better to get a little more edumacated. Thanks all. Paul.

Pbayer,

The hold down bolts are UNDER the valve cover, just to the left of the rocker arms. Just remove the forward most bolt of each hold down, and then just loosen the rear bolt of the hold down, and slide the hold down out, and the injector in under it.

Don't try jammin' the injector where it sounds like yer gonna', it's just not gonna' fit. :D

Later, Rob

Edit, i'll see if I can dig up my directions and e-mail to ya', just put the tools down, and step back and nobody gets hurt. :-laf ;)

If you were able to get all the lines loosened, and the tubes out, you're well over the half-way point.

I sent you some instructions. Hope you have a high-speed connection. :D

I recommend:

A flare-nut crow's foot for torqueing the HP lines. Correct torque is vital.

Make sure your torque wrenches are accurate.

If you want to torque #6 accurately, pull the engine. Otherwise, make your best guess. I'd love to hear another way to do this.

The injectors should pop in by hand. Make sure you oil the o-ring, screw the bolt into the top and push.

Keep your work area clean, clean, clean! I can't even see the holes in the injectors without my glasses.

If the torque on the HP lines is that important I would be in a heap of trouble. I have done injector changes 5 times and never torqued the HP lines. I was told to make em tight, as in about what it took to get em loose. So far that has worked for me. By the way this advice came from one of the big boy bombers and it had not failed me yet.

I agree with JR2. I torqued mine and had #2 and #6 leaking. You will find out what a PITA those two are if yours leak. I put the wrench to them and stopped tightening when they stopped leaking. Since then I have just made them "good and tight" and have not had any trouble at all.

The only thing you need to worry about really is DO NOT CHECK FOR LEAKS with any part of your body. There is enough pressure there to inject you with diesel. You can die from it. Use a peice of cardboard or something, so you can get your hands away from the lines at least a couple inches, 6 would be better.

Much thanks to you all. Your are a wealth of info. If I can see it, I can I can do it. Now I can see it. Thx Paul
