i installed 4 GSK to night when i test drove it ran good up to 3000 rpm. but when

i tried to take it past it would bark and pop out the exaust

any sugjustions i'm pulling this weekend at the pulls

Can't help you on this. I have the 3k and with my heavy 5th wheel on long grades pulling hard I will get a "bark" that I can only stop with a down shift. A bark is usually on rapid deceleration, or down shift, but my problem is under steady throttle, pulling hard. Will watch this post for fixes!

what do you have done to your head?? i see a brand new head in your sig with a thicker gasket, do you have stud anr rings in there as well, if not i would not take it past 16. 5 deg. of timing, it will blow your head gasket due to spkies in the cylinder pressures. be careful, timing will help your situation, but you need to have the head done right to run the advanced timing.

i have ARP studs but no rings yet

would it be best to just keep it below 3000 rpm

until i oring the head, then bump the timing

If you are asking about mine, my sig shows 15. 5. New stock head with . 010 over gasket and new bolts. Not sure if I can go much higher with timing since I do not have orings, studs, etc. Not a real problem for me anyway unless I try to pull in too high a gear. I just drop from 4th over to 4th.

What about fuel pressure/supply? Such as a weak lift pump, or overflow valve? I also noticed an improvement when I ran a new line from the tank to the lift pump.
