I need to install an EGT gauge and a Transmission

temperature gauge on my 2000 Cummins. I don't have

many tools or much time to do it myself.

Can any mechanic do it for me?

Should I do it myself or do I need a specialist?

EGT probe install

I would do it for you but the distance is a little far. :)

Any mechanic can do it for you or you can do it youself with minimal tools. Weather you do it or you have someone else install them one main thing to be carefull of. You need to drill and tap a 1/8 NPT hole into the exhaust manifold. ( I am assumeing you have a 1/8 NPT sensing element. It can be 1/4 NPT but not as common. ) REMOVE THE TURBO. STUFF A CLEAN RAG UP THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD TO LET YOU MAKE SURE YOU GET ALL THE CHIPS OUT OF THE MANIFOLD. Be carefule with the turbo while it is removed from the truck, keep clean and covered.

Special tools needed:

Size Q drill (. 332") Pilot hole for tap.

1/8 NPT tap

(Other tools needed are just basic hand tools mainly metric wrenches. )

I could help you once I get back from Twentynine Palms next week. The install is pretty easy. Are you going to get the '95 transmission cooler line for the transmission temp sender?

What part of S.D.?

I'm in Poway. If your anywhere close I can hook you up. Just did mine a few months back and it was pretty easy. Actually have a transmission sender block too that I can sell ya cheap.
