My '99 is all stock except for an EZ. It has 62k miles and never slipped before. I'm at a light on a slight incline, it changes, I hit the gas and it felt like I was on ice. Kept pushing the pedal to keep from getting beeped at. It was definitely slipping. After getting up to speed, I kicked it down and thought I felt it slip again. After that I could not get it to slip again. I took off from a start with a healthy puff of black smoke :D and away she ripped... . no slippage. I got to work and checked my fluid and it actually was over filled. But, it has been that way since it was serviced 30k ago.

Is it going south :{ or maybe just a band adjustment? Maybe something was slick on the asphalt? Any comments will be appreciated

tough to diagnose without driving it but i'll give it a shot ...

ok , stock , stock tc and VB ? no DTT tc saver ?

the forward clutch pack has pretty tight clearance and the factory clutches hold well , just an EZ should not slip that clutch pack , have seen very few that were slipped . its is usually caused by no fluid , lo fluid or the bellvue spring losing it spring and the piston popping of its bore and wiping the seal , but if that happen you'd know it , no forward motion , i just pulled apart a core trans that had the forward pack smoked with the above mention carnage .

i have a TC saver and if i don't wait for the dash to do it self check and start the truck to quickly SOMETIMES the PCM gets confused and the lockup apply signal is held on ... i see the light on the TC saver lit when it shouldn't be , if i drive off like this it feels like something is slipping or no power , cycle the key and all is fine . one sign for me , with the 93 tc anywho , is when i put it in gear the truck doesn't move off on its on like normally ...

might be getting to be time to bite the bullet and upgrade the trans ...

Mopar-Muscle... ... The transmission is all stock. I have an extended warranty so if it is toasting it will have to be a stock replacement:{ . My plan is to at least upgrade the valve body though.

well if you have a warranty and are concerned wit hit then you still have 38k to go , depending on how you get along with your specific dealership they will throw the void flag for even a VB saying the increased pressure is causing the slippage , and they'll say it with a straight face also .

pull the EZ , take it in and have the fluid changed and drop the pan to see whats inside .

did you cycle the key and this went away or was it just from one stop light to the next ?

I have 62k on the clock and it is has a warranty till 75k. I actually can't wait till it is over so I can put on a VB. :D As far as when it stopped slipping... ... I never cycled the key and it seemed to have disappeared at the next light. Shortly after that I shut off to drop the kids at school. Started out again and still no slipping. I will have to see what happens after work. My feeling is if it is going, it won't get any better!

all depends on how you drive it ... .

though i don't condone this , because of my stubborness and doing way to much work for other people i have been driving for close to 30k with a slipping 3rd gear clutch pack :{... i can't tow , can't drag race and had to remove my EZ , the PE is for boost module duty only , HX40 in a box in the basement  , WOT shift from 2nd to 3rd sends my tach to 3500rpm  .

I finally have the time and a core trans to make the swap happen in my own time frame , though i could have saved $300 (core price) as my truck will be down for a week while i undercoat the cab, drain the cooling system and pull the radiator to have the oil from that silly breather cleaned out of it and see if i can move my a/c condensor back behind the intercooler where it should be ...
