I was trying to hard wire in my radar detector to the over head console on my '02 SLT with no computer. I went to splice my ground into the black wire that goes to the overhead lights which i assumed to be the ground. There was a flash a pop, and then no radio and no other interior lights. Also the console that i had unplugged and off was hooked back up to the plug and nothing so there is no power at the pig tail from the roof. So all told I am out a radio, interior lights, the cupholder light, and cargo lamp. What did I do!!!!!!!!

And i checked every fuse i could think of.

I have a 2001 and did much the same thing.

After checking all the fuses several times over with no success I went to the dealership. The fuse panel on the left side of the dash had one fuse that had a cover over it that can be flipped to the side and the fuse is exposed. I saw this but in my frustration I did not check to see how to open it up. I can be ham fisted when I am upset and try to force something. I am to lazy to go out to the truck to check the name or description on the fuse. It is something like IOD?

Hope this helps.

Stan

IOD is Ignition Off Draw. That's what powers all the things that are on with the key off. . Interior lights, radio constant source, etc. .
