Ok- Did something stupid here:( . Was testing a 2 way to 3 way (Drawtite Gadget) light convertor so I could hook individual turn signals to our work flatbed trailers. Tested it, and the convertor did NOT work as advertised or as shown. Checked all connections, and still didn't work.

Now, :(, I seem to have fried something because the truck brakelights do not function. Neither do the brake light leads through the trailer wiring. The lamps are good, they work with turn signals, and the fuse in the PDC has been checked. The center high mount functions. I've been checking the service manual and can't find anything else, other than it appears to go through the ECM for brake pedal sense... :{ .

Anyone have any ideas??

Kev

I know the service manual shows there is one fuse listed for the brake lamps and it is in the PDC. I have no proof but I swear there is a related fuse in the junction block inside the cab. I would check all the fuses before anything else.

Check the wiring going to the turn signal switch. I think it is white with a brown or tan tracer. See if you have power from the brake light switch. Also check the output of the t/s switch. You might have hurt it.

Ditto on the Power Distribution Box. There are fuses for brake lights and signals. I blew mine when a ground wire shorted against my wires in my 7 pin connector plug. It was hard to tell at first, but after testing the fuses with a tester, I found out they were blew.

Tom- I'll give the output signal from the brake light switch a check, but I believe it to be working because the CHMSL is working. Turn signals are working, and as I said in the original post, all fuses have been checked.

OK- Now I'm even more    .

I just went and started the truck, was gonna have a buddy follow me home with it, and they are mysteriously working again.

Is there a self reseting something or other that reset itself when I started the truck??

Your truck did not like you using it as a guinea pig. Tried to teach you a lesson.

My advice is the same as above. Check the fuse in the PDC to make sure it is nor singed, and then check all your wiring at the rear end.
