Archived Help! Low power Engine light on.

On my way to work today truck studerd then lost 50% power then the engine light came on. Check all gages all normall. When down road 2to 3 miles then went back to normall. But engine light still on. Went home about 15 miles started to lose power again. What should I do? What could be wrong. Any help please.

you can cycle the key on and off 3 times, this will enable you to read the codes from the odometer window in the dash cluster. Post what codes come up and one of us will direct what to look for.

Its possible that it is the cam position sensor. This happened to my truck 2 yrs. ago.

Got the code p1693. Did a search got all the info. It was the plug going into the map senser. I unpluged it and pluged it back in . Worked great all the way to work and home. Im going to get some grease to put in it. Thanks for your help. I love TDR
