I have found a 2008 2500 and a 2008 3500 srw.

Both have the 4. 10's with Auto trans and are Laramie.

I'm towing a 14,500 TT toy hauler.

I'm leaning towards the 2500 for cheaper tags and I have more trucks to choose from.

What is the difference between the 2500 and the 3500 SRW?

Is it just the overload spring's?

Thanks

In 03 when I purchased mine, the overloads were the only difference besides the badging. Doubt much has changed.

Insurance in Washington state is also higher on the 3500 #@$%!.

I think the difference is just the overloads. I have a Mega Cab 3500 SRW and I don't notice any significant ride difference in the ride compared to my last truck - a 2500.

If you are thinking that you may upgrade to a 5th wheel, I'd seriously consider a dually. I'm in this situation now where I want a toyhauler, but the rear axle weight rating is just not enough for what I want to tow. I'm wishing I had the forethought to have gotten a dually at this point.

I'm thinking of converting to a dually, but the weights on my door will still be for the SRW of course.
