I have a 95 2500 4x2 auto with a #4 TST plate, 3000 gsk, afc spring kit and complete Suncoast Transmission. I want a daily driver that can turn 14s in the quarter mile, smoke the tires off of the rims, top end over 120 mph and tow a 6000# trailer. So, help me make it happen.

My plan is to install a new exhaust system but, I don't know if I should go 4" or 5", single or dual, muffler or not.

Exhaust will be my next purchase. What is the advantage to SS over aluminized steel?

After the exhaust, I was thinking about either 370 or DDIII injectors, 191 Delivery valves, Piers hx 40 turbo, and a mega cannon air filter. Would these mods get me to where I want to be? Are a cam, twin turbos etc. in my future?

I don't have to have the fastest 95 Ram just the fastest in Tallahassee Florida

Thanks,

Jeff

i was hoping somebody would bring up an exhaust topic. I have installed Rip's, Stans and J. Jardines exhaust so far and i bought tubing and bends for a five inch from stan. I feel that the J. Jardine exhaust was the most user friendly exhaust, . . the hangers were perfect and it looks great. One thing i base my opinion on is degree angle of the bends. J. Jardine is the best. Rip had several 90's that i didn't care for and Stan's has 45's that are good, but J. Jardine is the smoothest. Rips exhaust was too short, Stans sells his too long (which i like because if its wrong its my fault), and J Jardines was right on. Stan says that his dual 4" will flow more than the 5". I think u will be happy with a single 4". Stainless is over kill since most aluminized kits are lifetime warrenty any way. If u are planning a PDR 40 then wait and buy the exhaust without the downpipe and get the down pipe through Piers. That down pipe is the prettiest down pipe i've seen. Its tig welded. Piers' downpipe that goes with the pdr 40 hooks up to most exhaust systems.

370's are great, they add a lot of hp and torque, but i would add them after the PDR 40 if ya want to tow. The 191's don't add HP. They add low end power, spool up, and HEAT.

Cams are great, but that would be the last install. Twins are great, but keeping hoses on and not blowing head gaskets come into play. I recommend either the afe mega cannon or the Scotty II. Good luck in your future horsepower adventures.

I'm confused 191's add 40cc's of fuel over 181's and made as much power as the 370's, but that was in my truck.

Knock on wood I haven't had a problem with either, just a thought.

Jeff,

I would definitely go with a Piers HX40/16 turbo once you get over 350hp worth of fuel. At that point you will need a 4" exhaust to mate with the turbo. I run an aluminized Jardine 4"

it works great.

With the proper fueling, turbo setup, transmission setup etc. you should be in the 400hp+ ball park with this setup and running low 14's IMO.

You can have a great running truck without the Cam and Twins.

But, when you want to get real crazy and go into the 600hp area

I would suggest taking a look at the Cams offered on the market today Piers, EE, ATS etc.

Make sure you get a grind that suits your truck and needs Pulling vs. Racing.

With the Cam your probably going to want a Ported and Polished head to help let the air in and out.

Once again, depending on how drastic you want to machine the head, do your research and decide $$$ what best suits you.

About this time, your probably going to want twins.

Once again, decide whos setup you want to run or even make your own.

Make sure to consult the experts as to which turbos will talk to each other properly and get your turbos exhaust/turbine housings right the first time.

I'll let someone else fill you in on the P7100 and all of its little tricks!

Hope this helped some.

Jim, ... i haven't done any experimentation on 181's vs. 191's on the test stand, but i plan to soon. When talking to Joe D. and Piers, ... Joe said he had 1 hp and a lot more heat, and Piers said that u don't gain HP, but the sled pullers do it for more low end power. Those were two good references so thats why i said that. Joes truck is on the dyno every other day say the dyno really says it all. Have u seen any difference on the dyno. Maybe this would be a good experiment at May maddness if DD let us play with the dyno. Would like to see what others say about dv's on the dyno.

also twins, big turbos have been known to blow off hoses. Like i siad before for milde HP go with PDR 40, ... . if ya need more than that save your money and huge slow, single, turbos and go twins.

P Pump

As for the pump stuff, call PDR. I would recommend you remove the pump and send it to PDR (or take it to a local pump shop that sets up pumps for puller trucks and tractors). The price for that, providing you do the removal and reinstallation, will be about the same as the 191's. Your pump has 131's, you'll need 181's to feed 370's with your 160 pump after it's been adjusted. PDR or others can help with used parts like this.

Also, you'll need to address your trans. Some valve body mods will be required to keep the TC from slipping (it already should be). I recommend a call to Goerend's.

u know my 131's DV's were putting out 600 cc's of diesel ( in 100 strokes) on the test stand the other day, and that was only at 1000 pump RPM. Poor little test stand wouldn't push it any more. can't be too cocky though, i have to Give all my thanx and graditude to the diesel god, PIERS. ..... Thanx
