My inlaws own (unfortuately) a 02 Duramax w/allison. There injectors just went TU in Kingsman AZ this week. Costing them $6,000 to get it fix. Sounds step to me. Does anyone remember where that information came from about GMC knowing the injectors were bad, A link would be great. I keep telling them to by a Cummins, know maybe they will listen... . Thanks

Check over on the dieselplace.com ( you'll have to do some reading)or you might see if a guy here named Yo Hoot has any info. He used to have a Dmax, but I haven't seen him here for a little while.

I wouldn't consider this reliable information, but I heard, thru the rumor mill, that GM has extended the warranty on Duramaxes with problems, to 200,000 miles. Due to the frequency of injector problems with the earlier Duramaxes and GM's history of problematic diesels, in the past, they wanted to keep diesel customers happy by fixing problems, on GM's dime. Again, this is the rumor I've heard. Not sure how accurate it is. But, I wouldn't be surprised if Your in-laws have a good case. I would sure check it out. Hope this helps. Joe F. (Buffalo)
