I really like the prices that Jetpilot sent me... . So... I need some help. My truck is my daily driver. I don't tow anything. Sometimes I have a bed full of stuff. Mostly not. Drivability is most important. I don't want to smoke out intersections, and I don't want alot of lag. I do want to run 45-50lbs of boost efficiently and not worry about egts hitting over 1500degrees. I run a Diablosport Predator on performance. Extreme is way too hot. I'd like to run Extreme. Think TST on a mid setting, from what I've been told. And of course I probably will end up with a TST in the near future.

All opinions appreciated... :D

i also liked jet pilots prices, but ended up finding mine used for real cheap so i went that route. i love my SPS 62, this turbo is awesome!! a buddy of mine talked to me for a long time about putting one on my truck and i have never been happier with my truck. being that yours is a 3rd gen and so is his, pm him or he might just jump in here, he usually does because he is so happy with his. Cholman is his name here. . you should be able to spool a 64 well but if you want the best spool up, a 62 should keep you cool. good luck!

I woudn't hesitate to get an SPS62/14. It will have no problem making 45-50 PSI and the 14 cm exhaust housing should cool just fine. The nice thing about the SPS is it's upgradelable as well so it can grow with you as you need or it makes a really nice start on twins if you want to go that route.

I have an original B1-04 Turbo, aside from that it looks like I have a similar setup to you. It seems that the competition (jammer/sps62-66) are the Turbos of the month right now. But I have had excellent results with my set up, I have also heard that the BD Turbos are really good. These setups might cost a little more, but they are proven on the battlefield. I chose the B1-04 because it was proven and no one would say anything bad about it.

Bottom line, very fast truck and very drivable - very happy!

Good luck!

I say 62/14... My 66 is SUPER laggy. Most everyone who drives my truck hates how it spools. Of course I just have it for top end... for now:)

It's hard to say without knowing what exhaust, intake, etc. you have to compliment the turbo. I would say more air (intake, manifolds), exhaust and fuel would get you into the mid 5's on the dyno though at 50 PSI. You may want to consider doing something with the head though for that kind of boost.

If I were pushing 50psi I would stud the heads first, and I'd also have to get rid of the plastic intercooler of course... ;)

Why dont you look into a new IC from BD or Banks? That way when you get the new turbo, you dont have to worry about popping the plastic tanks. Plus you'll be lowering your EGT's at the same time, which is what you wanted to do in the first place. But thats just my . 02 :)

I had a HTB2 62/12 on my truck for almost 2 years and absolutly loved it. Spooled quick, towed great. Cooled me down a bit. And still did 520hp with it.

since ya'll are talking about these turbos, what are your opinions on the 64/14? or would a 62/14 be better for my setup?

i am running damn near the same truck as you but you have a little more fuel. i love my 62/14, but i can get it to 1400 if i try, with a drag comp i will probably be able to pass that, i am not too worried about that but in your case i would go with a 64/14.

I have ran a sps 62 and it is an awesome turbo, I currently have the silverbullet 66 on now. I think you would be very impressed with the super phat shaft 62 or the silverbullet 62.

If you tow anything a 64 compressor is really laggy & in my oppinion not as fun to drive. I've tried everything from 64/14, 62/12, 62/14 & now have the Super Stock 62/24 LDP & I think it is the best turbo a towing truck can get under the hood. If not towing ... . Go Super 62 & LDP won't be needed.

I have a B1-2-04, similar to a 62/14 that TAD is rebuilding right now. I should have it back soon. I have it for sale with the down pipe for $1400. If interested let me know. I went to twins. I was extremely happy with the performance and cooling of the B1-2-04. I've just outgrown it. :-laf

Sorry, Ive been gone for about a week and haven't been able to get on here. Anyway, a SPS 64 is designed for the second gen trucks. The SPS 64 on the 3rd gen trucks has major serging issue's and tends to like to bark. I would go with either the SPS 62 or the SB 62. When I have my SMARTY on 8 and TST on 3/2 I've never seen over 1250. Your truck is almost set up like mine, but I doubt that downloader you have fuels as hard as my SMARTY does. I'm going to be getting a MP8 here soon and I'll be set. :-laf You can't go wrong with a SPS 62. Get a hold of PDW and get in on that group buy... .

High Tech's new line kicks some major ***** Oo. and the prices are definitely right. The super stock 62 would work like a champ on your setup hands down - good cool power.
