Hello folks. I need a quick lesson in how to wire in a relay for my new, tomorrow, FASS DDRP.

I just put in a new Injector pump 2 days ago and my Holly Blue fuel pump down on the frame rail has me worried. It's rated for 16psi but is now reading high at 22-24psi and I think it's about to fail again just like it did last fall. So this morning I ordered a FASS DDRP pump from Geno's Garage and will have it tomorrow and I will install it right away. But I was just reading the latest issue of TDR Magazine and I saw about the relay for the FASS and that gave me a shot threw my brain that I needed a relay.

I should mention that I put in the larger relocation line kit several years ago with wiring extension down to the frame rail. :D

Where should I install the relay and what amp rating is used?

Is there any other wiring I should change?

Looking for reply's soon so I can purchase tomorrow morning. Oo.

Thanks,
Tom

Thanks a lot CEdwards.

We can put this post to rest as I found out that the FASS DDRP plugs right into the wire harness. No instructions saying a relay required.

You are right I just installed one a few weeks ago myself. Just in case you have any more problems afterward like I did read this thread https://www.turbodieselregister.com...laced-lift-pump-but-now-loosing-pressure.html a couple weeks after install my pump would still give a little lower pressure or finally quit until I cycled key however many times to get it full pressure again. Running a seperate power circuit outside the ECM to power the DDRP would definetely be a better setup. That way the ecm would have a tiny load telling the relay to power the ddrp. Instead of running the full power circuit through the ECM. I don't understand why the dodge engineers didn't do it that way to begin with. Good luck and I hope things go well for you. Just noticed the summit county in your info. I worked a lot of construction there in my youth when breckinridge was being built from a small town to what it is now. Did a lot of offroading and hiking, good times.
