I have a stock 98 2500 4x4 auto. I tow about 5,000 lbs and drive mainly in town, light to light. I want to get to the next light faster than the guy beside me. I am getting a full Suncoast transmission next week. I want to have it set up to suit my needs when I have my mods done. How I achieve 500 hp will help Joe set up the transmission.

I know that twins would be best but, I am reluctant to go that way because there is noone around here that can/will change out the head gasket and other things that may need to be done.

Can I reach my goal with a single turbo, injectors, 4000gsk, exhaust, air filter?

I appreciate any input you can provide.

Jeff

If you have the 180 pump, it takes a little more work. I swamped to the 215 pump and with my setup it ran 470 (only because i don't have a larger turbo). The cheapest setup would be 10 plate full forward, 4K GSK, Valve springs, 4in exhaust, aFe stage 2 intake, B1 turbo that is wastegated (38-42 psi), time the motor to 16. 5 degrees, 370 injectors (or if you want more talk to Don M. ). You may want to put head studs in (if you do one at a time, you will not have to change the gasket).

Jeff,

I would think that you will be close if you set it up similar to the 95 listed in your sig. One thing to consider will be the size of the charger... a smaller charger will spool quicker for that light to light racing, but won't help your egt's much on the top end. 500 is not terribly hard to reach, but 500 enjoyable, quick spooling, controllable egt's when loaded, needs a little forethought. the jury is still out on the perfect single, but http://www.htturbo.com/ and http://www.industrialinjection.com/ are really making names for themselves, great products, great tech support.

On the other hand, if you plan on lauching in 4wd @ 15psi Oo. have the injectors honed out the size of drink straws and put a charger on there the size of a 5 gallon bucket ;) ..... no point in racing unless you wanted to win :-laf

Chrleb1,

what kind of automatic are you running in your truck?

BTW my opinion and $1 will get you a cup of coffee (small) :-laf .

I am running a transmission out of a 95. My brother (Reb. b on here) built it and i am running a triple disc converter. Basically the transmission has billit input and intermediate shafts and some other misc. work done to it. I am waiting on a billit output shaft also, that way i don't cringe when i do launches in 4wd.

You wanna reach 500+ the first thing id do is get rid of that junk HX-40 it cant handle it I popped 2 of them untill learned my lesson:)
