BHAF stands for "Big Honkin' Air Filter"

It is a canister style air filter that is adapted for use in our Dodge's... I do NOT know the part #, but I do know you need to build a VERY simple adaptor fitting to mount the filter to the turbo hose... Hopefully someone will help me on this reply. Sorry I don't know everything...

There is a thread a couple pages back that refers to stainless steel mounts for the BHAF. If you end up going with one then you might try to see if they are able to get them still.

Chipstien,

I went back to stock box and K&N. Trying to find cure for EGT's. Never really noticed any higher egt's with stock box. Went back to be sure and did a little test. Same hill, same day, same temp, different setup. First ran WOT with BHAF and comp on 3x5,1350*

Then put in stock box with a freshly cleaned and oiled K&N and ran from same spot. 1310* I don't know if it really matters to save 40* but I think it is worth a try. I pulled off at 100 mph just to make it the same. only variable was letting truck idle to switch out filters. Would it matter... ... ? Greg

The mount that Greg is talking about is made by Jason Bosel (last thread above) and features a heat shield to protect it from the turbo heat.

The filter is a very large fleetguard filter. It is the same type that Cummins wants on the engine, but bigger. Basicaly, you get a high flow filter by way of increased surface area, for much less $ than the other filters. Pretty clever if you ask me. Just wish I had though of it.

I just put mine in and so far I love it. Then again, I haven't been able to do anything other than drive accross town.
