I thought I understood the lock up converter until now, that I started reading more. Can someone point me to a basic description of how it works and how I know or feel it working?

after YOUR TRANS HAS REACHED A CERTAIN LEVEL, THE TORQUE CONVERTER LOCKS UP USING TRANS FLUID PRESSURE TO PUSH A DISC AGAINST THE TORQUE CONVERTER HOUSING. NOW YOU'VE ELIMINATED THE FLUID COUPLING THAT ALLOWS SLIPPAGE. THERE IS LESS HEAT BUILDUP WHEN IT IS LOCKED. TBOB
