My father just blew the head gasket on his old Mercedes and while we trying to take of the head we broke the slide rail bearing bolt. We tried to use an easy out drill bit and that broke in the bolt. Any suggestions how we could get both out without damaging the head? thanks Corey

Probably not the answer that you are looking for, but take it to a good machine shop. When I was having some head work done on my old Mercedes, several bolts were broken off into the head. I don't know how they did it, but all were removed without a trace and the cost wasn't that great.

With a broken drill bit or EZ out in it that is bad news. Most auto machine shops will not be able to get the old bolt out. You need to find a tool and die shop that has a sinker type EDM machine. They will be able to burn out the old bolt with that broken EZ out in it.
