My turbo (or around there) has started making a loud swooshing sound and I am 1000 miles from home. My turbo still seems to spool up ok, but only to about 28psi. (normaly 31psi) The power seems a little down, but not bad. The exhaust temps have also risen alot. Any ideas???? Actuator?? I really don't know alot about the actuator and how it works. I am currently in West Yellowstone any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Dan

I am pretty sure you have an air leak somewhere on your intake system after the turbo. There are four rubber boots with hose clamps that like to work loose. Two are off the bottom of the intercooler, one is below the turbo, and the other one is below the intake horn. This has happened to me three times with the exact symptoms.

Good luck,

Dan

Thanks alot!!! I'll check those this afternoon. Once again the information available here is awesome. I hope it is just a leak.

Well, I just checked the connections and the second connection from the intercooler was loose. The rubber boot was partially off and the clamp was very loose. I fixed it and it ran like a charm. While at it I also checked the other clamps and they were all loose.
