Help need finding Noise under truck

I notice a noise when I go over bumps in drive, 2nd or 1st. It sounds like something is loose and banging around, under the truck, near the driver footwell. Kind of like if the transmission linkages are loose when in the drive position. When I drive over the same bump, but coast (transmission is in neutral), I don't hear the noise.



Has anybody had the same problem and know what the fix is?

Probably your overloads hitting the bump stops. You can pad them with old tire pieces. My 98. 5 did the same, my 01 doesn't.

It might be the shift linkage hitting the floor pan. See this TSB.
