Mixing Used Engine Oil in the Fuel?

Well, got in too much of a hurry when I last had my injection pump apart. I cracked the adaptor that comnnects the TPS into the shaft on the pump. It is not a part that can be bought by itself. I went to the local injection shop and they said it was a dealer item. Went to the dealer and he said it is part of the bracket assembly and wanted over $500 for the silly thing. Told him I didn't want a whole new pump, just the adaptor. Wish I still had acess to a mill, I'd make an aluminum one.

Question - Does anyone have an old pump laying around that has a TPS still sitting on it? If so, would you care to part with that adaptor. It is assembled into the botom of the TPS. I'm not asking for a free one, I am more than willing to pay for it. (just not as much as the dealer wants!)

AND, if you have an old pump with that part, does the pump still have the cone assembly inside that I could get?

I know most pumps go back in as a core but thought I'd ask.

Thanks in advance.

You tried JB Weld? I have used it with some success on stuff like that, paccool. As long as it doesnt get too high a torque load on it (which I dont think the TPS adaptor would), it should hold for a good while. $4 a set at Wal Mart for the JB.

Thanks for the suggestion Daniel. If I can't find another one I'll have to try that. I still am thinking about finding access to a milling machine and making one. The one I have is still working but I don't know for how long.

I know one thing, I would rather have this problem than the one CB has!

Stan

Stan,

Where is it cracked at? If it can be JB welded, you can make it even stronger by wire wrapping then JB weld over the top of the wire.

Just a thought.

And what are you up to with wanting a "spare" cone?

Carl

Stan, i had the same thing happen to me, i JB welded it and it has held up ever since, that was about a year and a half ago.

Guess what I have. Yep It's Yours. I have my TPS pined in a fixed position so I don't need mine. Now I just have to find it. I think it is in the ash tray. Maby in the freezer next to the ice cream or in the bottom of the cerial container. I will start with the ash tray.

Of course I have to send Bgilbert something and Jlast a couple things and havent got them sent yet. But yours is easy just put in envilop and let it fly.

Gary, You got that right!

Phillip, let me know when/if you find it!:D Sounds like me - " I know that part is here somewhere";)

You guys are the greatest! I have had offers to make one from Case500 and JBolt, Ceberesiam and Bushwacker are looking for one for me. This is only after one day of having this posted.

If anyone else comes up with one, send it to me and I'll see about getting some made as a backup for anyone else that may need one. I know I can't be the only one that has had problems with this. The one from Phillip is going in the truck.

FIRST GEN GROUP RULES!Oo. :D :)

Guys, my thanks to everyone for all the help and offers. Phillip, you have a PM.

FIRST GEN GROUP RULES

Not sure who rules whom. .

I think our first gens rule the group.

Why else would we be such slaves to a mechanical monster? And be so dedicated to this forum?

I at first mispelled the above and typed "mobster"... . that's probably more accurate as it keeps "bleeding" us for more and more $$$.

But I love that mechanical monster... ... ... .

:D

I'm going to bypass the TPS altogether this weekend I hope. I've had this idea for some time and somebody on another site did it and it's suppose to be working. I'm going to use a 5K, ten turn , 1watt potentiometer mounted in the cab and run the wires up to the connector. Total cost will be less than $20. I'll post details when done. I'm sick of paying 150 - 200 for the TPS, a part that cost no more than 25 to make, if that.
