couple weeks ago my 01 24vho was runnin rough. dealership said i was runnin on 3 cyl. (injectors bad) my buddy n i swapped out inj for stg3 jammers. still ran rough, but had a lot of blueish/white smoke. ran codes(key) said it was vp44. last nite we installed new vp44 ran ok, but still smoke. drove 1/4 mile then had no power, died, ran hot.

any ideas??

current codes

0122

1693

0234

0216

0217

1690

btw installed new cps while vp44 was off.

You might want to check that the pump shaft key is still in place. If it is any chance you put the wrong pump shaft key in, or put the key in backwards?

Whats your fuel pressure from the lift pump? do you have a gauge? if not get one quick, how is your fuel filter? check that also, im no expert but thats where I would start.

P0234 Turbocharger Overboost Condition

P0217 Coolant Temperature Too High

p0122 thottle position sensor low voltage

0216 is the death code for the vp44

1690 P1690 Fuel injection pump CKP Sensor Does Not Agree With ECM CKP Sensor

Like I said above check your lift pump, the 1690 means I think low fuel pressurefrom the lift pump, and 1693 is a companion code, good luck, post back your results

btw when we were installin the new vp, we dropped the washer that goes on the shaft-down the timing cover. so we had to take all that sh** off to get to it. i think that we might have f*d-up the timing. can't find any info on how to time it. ie line-up marks!!!

maybe we put it on 180 degrees off???

thx for the help.

ps any ideas y its smokin so much??

Unless you removed the pump gear while the timing cover was off you can't out the pump in 180* out (as long as the key is aligned). If you have any questions that I can answer please give me a call at 717-557-7060.
