Hi, All:

I just won a nice factory REC (larger) NAV unit on e-bay and will be installing it over the weekend. I began looking at the project last night and hit the first snag.

1) Can anyone tell me how to remove the bezel surrounding the radio? Is it simply held in with clips, and I just pull it off from the front, or are there screws and/or other panels that I need to remove first?

2) Can anyone tell me where the NAV antenna gets mounted??

Thanks in advance for all help!!!

I did this conversion with a pioneer navigation unit a couple of months ago.

1) To remove the bezel surrounding the radio you first have to start at the cup holders on the floor. There are two or three screws under the black plastic holder and another two under the 4x4 shift lever. Once that's removed you can get to the first vertical piece. There are two more screws at the top it connecting it to the bottom of the bezel. Once those screws are removed the bezel surrounding the radio is held on by retaining clips. I guess what I'm trying to say is start at the bottom and work your way up.

2) I don't know where the NAV antenna is mounted from the factory but I just shoved mine up under the dash somewhere. I had read this would be enough for the unit to pick up the satellite signal however I would not recommend this because my unit has trouble with my location about 20% of the time. When I get a chance I'm going to move the antenna to the top of the dash and hold it in place with some 3M tape.

I hope this helps I'm not real good explaining things.
