Hi Guys,

Fuel pressure gauge shows 0 PSI. Pressure is taken at test port between filter and VP44. Tested the gauge by shorting the terminals on the electric sensor and gauge works. The truck still starts fine.

I then opened the drain at the filter canister and bumped the starter. I should see fuel gushing out, right? I only saw a small stream come out.

It appears I have a dead lift pump right? When I bumped the starter and touch the lift pump, it does appear to be running.

Anything else I should try to test lift pump (in case electric sensor is bad)?

Thanks for any advice.

You could find 5 foot of 5/16 hose and a 5 gallon jug of fuel. Disconnect the line at the pump and connect temporary system, try to purge the air and see what happens. It could be the pump is ok but you may have a problem on the suction side. If air is available you could try blowing back to the tank from the lift pump and listen for bubbles. Reconnect and try purging air. There is also a possibility the screen in the pump is plugged. Another possibility is a snapped shaft in the pump allowing the motor to run but not moving the vanes to pump fuel.
